Want to charge your car using green energy? The EO Mini Pro 2 connects to your solar panels using our innovative solar matching functionality.

How does it work?

The EO Mini Pro 2 reads the power being generated by your solar panels and sets its charging rate to match the output of the solar array. You can set this charging window during the day to top up your vehicle from the sun.

Using the EO Smart Home app, you can set when your vehicle will charge according to the output of your solar array. Here's how it works:

1) Your vehicle will charge at the same rate as the output of the solar array.

2) If the solar output drops below the specified minimum rate (e.g. sun goes behind a cloud) then the vehicle will charge at the minimum rate. It is not safe for a vehicle to repeatedly stop and start charging and so the minimum rate will always guarantee the charging rate.

3) The Recommended minimum rate is 6A.

Why an additional cost: To unlock our Solar Charging feature an additional CT Clamp is required. This optional extra can be included during the installation process for an additional ₹ 8,750.00

Power Balancing.

Worried about exceeding your home’s power limit when plugging in? The EO Mini Pro 2 has power balancing capability to avoid overloading your electrical supply.

How does it work?

The EO Mini Pro 2 offers power balancing at home with an additional CT clamp. It can read the incoming feed to the building, take into account the building energy usage and calculate a final amount of power that is then distributed to the charger.

Our latest home charger reads the incoming power feed every second and reduces the power output when other home appliances, such as a water heater, are turned on. Once the water heater is turned off, the charger will automatically read the available power and increase the power output to the maximum available level.

FAQs

+ What smartphone app do I need to use for the EO Mini Pro 2?

The smartphone app for the EO Mini Pro 2 is the 'EO Smart Home' app, powered by EO Charging's own back-office platform. This can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store here and on Google Play Store here.

+ Does the EO Mini Pro 2 need an earth rod?

We recommend that EO Approved Installers include a Garo earthing device (product sold separately at a discount through EO) for all home installs, negating the need for an earth rod when fitting your charging unit. The device meets the latest wiring regulations in place and is part of our standard installation package which covers the majority of homes in the UK.

+ Can I lock the EO Mini Pro 2 when not charging to prevent any unauthorised usage?

The EO Mini Pro 2 does not come with a locking socket but you can configure it to only charge during certain time periods and prevent others from using your charger when your car isn’t plugged in. To do so, simply set a ‘Scheduled Charging’ using the 'EO Smart Home' app.

If you're going away for a longer period of time (e.g. on holiday) you can easily disable your EO Mini Pro 2 by tapping the padlock on the main screen of the 'EO Smart Home' app. That way if another vehicle is plugged in whilst you're away it simply won't charge.

+ Is it possible to use RFID with an EO Mini Pro 2?

It's not possible to use RFID with an EO Mini Pro 2 as it isn't equipped with a RFID card reader - that said, the EO Mini Pro 2 is smartphone controlled so you can start, stop and schedule a charging session from the 'EO Smart Home' app.

+ Can you select the charge rate manually from the app?

The EO Mini Pro 2 charging rate can be set up to 7.2kW - this must be manually setup by an EO Approved Installer during your installation, according to the power supply available at your home.

If you are concerned about the charging rate of your EO Mini Pro 2 then please first contact the EO Approved Installer that installed your home charging unit.

+ What happens if my installation is non-standard?

Non-standard charger installations may incur an additional cost. Once your order is placed, we'll be in touch to better understand your requirements and produce a no-obligation quote for the additional works. If you decide not to proceed, a full refund will be provided.

+ How do I claim the OZEV grant? Can I claim it if I purchase a second hand EV or use a company car?

To claim £350 off the cost of your new home charging point, simply order it with us, provide us with your documentation and our team will do the rest!

If you become a registered keeper of a second-hand electric car, you are eligible to claim. If you are assigned a company car for at least 6 months, you are also eligible to claim.
